¿Quién es Maestra Alison?

¡Hola!

After receiving my Master’s degree in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College in Oregon, and teaching in Costa Rica and Brazil for a few years, I returned to California to teach bilingual elementary school in Redwood City, 1st - 3rd grades.  We taught most subjects in Spanish to Spanish speaking children, except for ESL (English), transitioning to more English in third grade.  I’ve also taught 3rd grade in a dual immersion program in Santa Cruz, teaching most of the day (math, language and social studies) in Spanish.

Lexington Elementary School is a great school, and I’ve enjoyed teaching Introductory Spanish here for 13 years. This is a wonderful community of eager and inquiring students - wonderful children.  I live in Santa Cruz with my husband Stephen and our bunny, Señor Bunbun. We have twin girls, Alicia and Isabella, who are now sophomores in college, and sometimes live with us too! We enjoy the many beach activities in Santa Cruz, and hiking in the Redwoods.
