Resource Specialist Program
Welcome to Ms.Reiko's page!
I am Ms. Reiko, Resource Specialist here at Lexington.
What is a Resource Specialist Program?
I provide both academic support and behavior support for students with identified disabilities. I also work closely with classroom teachers to provide strategies/advice in supporting students with various needs in their classrooms.
A little bit of about Me
I grew up in Japan and moved to the U.S. about 13 years ago. Yes, I'm fluent in Japanese!
I like doing yoga and taking a ballet class for fitness purpose. I also like dancing of any kind.
In my adventurous youth, I backpacked around the world and that experience pretty much pointed me towards becoming a special education teacher. After a whirlwind of first year teaching, I've had an opportunity to teach in Honduras for a year. My Spanish is ok for casual conversation...or at least I hope it is. It's been a while. I'm continuing with traveling around when I can, but with a family these days. This past year, our family lived in Japan for my husband's work assignment, so we were able to visit many cities in Japan as well as New Zealand.
I'm excited to be back at Lexington community this year! Please feel free to stop by and say hello. My room is L12.
