IB Transitional Kindergarten

Lexington is thrilled to continue offering a unique International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program "Early Years" Transitional Kindergarten experience for all LGUSD families for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. Currently, each downtown site offers at least one TK class. Lexington is the only school authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Early Years Program for TK in Los Gatos.

 

Your child can enroll in TK for the 2026-27 school year IF...you reside within the LGUSD attendance boundaries and your child will turn 4 years old on or before September 1st, 2026. 

 

Any family in LGUSD can request an intra-district TK-5 student transfer to Lexington. Contact Gloria Prado at the District Office for details.

The district will be holding one TK information session for families to learn about the downtown and Lexington TK programs in March 2026.  We encourage you to attend. There will be a special Lexington campus and TK classroom tour on January 29th. 

 

All four site presentations will provide information about both the International Baccalaureate TK Early Years and traditional downtown school TK programs. LGUSD TK Registration information is here.

 

Registration opens February 2nd and continues through February. Because interest may exceed capacity at some of our schools, there will be a lottery to determine site placement. Families will be notified of their child's placement on March 13th. You can choose to change registration to Lexington if there is still space.

 

If you are registered in LGUSD, contact Lexington's office if you are interested in learning more about the IB TK program and taking a tour of Lexington's beautiful campus on another date.

 

In June, a "Welcome to Transitional Kindergarten" (or a "Welcome to Kindergarten") slide deck will be available to fully registered families with important information for the school year, including summer playdates. There will also be a before-school "Ice Cream Social" hosted by our HSC in August. If you registered, District Registrar Gloria Prado can share the slide decks with you.
