IB Transitional Kindergarten

Lexington is thrilled to continue offering a unique International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program "Early Years" Transitional Kindergarten experience for all LGUSD families for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. Currently, both Lexington and Blossom Hill schools have three TK classrooms. Next year (2025-26), each downtown site will offer at least one TK class. Lexington is the only school authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Early Years Program for TK in Los Gatos.

 

Your child can enroll in TK for the 2025-26 school year IF...you reside within the LGUSD attendance boundaries and your child will turn 4 years old on or before September 1st, 2025. 

 

Any family in LGUSD can request an intra-district TK-5 student transfer to Lexington. Contact Gloria Prado at the District Office for details.

Click here to read an article in the Los Gatan Newspaper about County Supervisor Joe Simitian's May 2023 visit to Lexington's TK program. Simitian authored the bill to bring TK to California schools when he was a state senator. It was an honor to have him visit Lexington!

The district will be holding three TK information sessions for families to learn about the TK programs available before registration begins on February 3rd, 2025.  Each presentation includes a tour of the campus. We encourage you to attend the 3:30pm presentation on January 28th as there will be more sunlight to enjoy Lexington's amazing campus!

All three site presentations will provide information about both the International Baccalaureate TK Early Years and traditional TK programs. Please RSVP to let us know you plan to attend.  Registration information is here.

 

Registration opens February 3rd and continues through February 28th. Because interest may exceed capacity at some of our schools, we will hold a lottery to determine site placement. Any child whose registration is complete by 3:00 pm on February 28th will be entered into the lottery, which will take place on March 7th. Any student enrolled on or after March 1st will be placed as space allows. 

 

We have not confirmed a spring Lexington TK visitation day yet. If you are registered in LGUSD, contact Lexington's office if you are interested in learning more about the IB TK program and taking a tour of Lexington's beautiful campus.

 

In June, a "Welcome to Transitional Kindergarten" (or a "Welcome to Kindergarten") slide deck will be available to fully registered families with important information for the school year, including summer playdates. There will also be a before-school "Ice Cream Social" hosted by our HSC in August. If you registered, District Registrar Gloria Prado can share the slide decks with you.
